Happy Senko de Mayo (May 5)

Featured Replies

We're trying a social experiment on May 5. We're trying to get #SenkoDeMayo to trend tomorrow especially on Twitter.

But it I'm using it on all of my social media accounts. I'm adding #bassfishing too.

I have no affiliation with Yamamoto Baits other than I buy a lot of Senkos.

This could be fun or a big bust. Who knows.

Check out the color in my post. Smoke/hologram. Best clear water color I use.

Yamamoto doesn't make it in 6-inch anymore so I had to buy the whole production run. 37 bags of 50 count.

Dang! Did you get a second mortgage to finance all those Yamamoto's!

How much one of those bags cost?

I am not the OP, but I was curious too.  TW sells a 50 pack of 6" Senkos for $56.89.  Holy moly...

OMG that is an addiction get this guy some help.

Yeah, but used at a rate of one senko per minute that would only last about three 10 hour days of fishing!

Well, what can you do when that's no longer a standard color and size. Watch, now that I have a lifetime supply, they'll bring it back.

I have sold some (20 bags) in my bass club. I pre sold those before ordering. (I won several big bass trophies with those and guys were looking for some: I created demand.)

$50/bag. $5.75 shipping. Hint, hint.

I'll sell about 10 more bags if interested.

I just purchased my first pack of Yamasenkos and hope they do as well as everyone tells me they do. I'll definitely take a photo of my bag and post it over social media and put the hashtag on it. Great idea!

#SenkoDeMayo now has non fishing people using it. It's funny. If you're on Twitter search the hashtag #SenkoDeMayo

The fish love the ymsnkos but there only good for 1-2 fish and they tear up.The 5 inch ones usually last for 2-3 fish.

i caught 7 on the same 5" senko last night....  heat shrink tube is magic for prolonging the life of the senko!

??? What's that?

go to lowe's and ask for 3/8" heat shrink tubing from the electrical aisle....  cut it into a small strip and it slides right over the senko, you don't necessarily even need to heat it up and shrink it.  run the hook through the tube and the worm and it will prolong the life of the senko like you wouldn't believe!  far better than the o ring method because this has your hook perpendicular to the bait rather than parallel, much better hookups.

here's a link to a killer explanation from BR member @Wayne P.

might help the OP slow down on burning through that bulk pack too!

It doesn't affect the natural presentation of it?

not one bit from what i can tell, the fish don't mind either.  and the heat shrink tube i use is black, but i think some places sell clear too if you're worried about the color, but there again the black doesn't seem to bother the fish around here.

It works really well, buzzed bait got me hooked on it

Thanks.I'll try it.

it's pretty cheap too... like $2 for a pack of it i believe so if you don't like it, you won't be out all that much.  3/8" for senkos and 1/4" for trick worms sized baits.

To save money, I t-rig a senko first, then when I can't t-rig them, I save them for wacky- rigging.
