I generally have about 10-14 rods in the boat with me.

2-3 different crankbait rods

2-3 different plastics rods

Swimbait rod

Buzzbait/spinnerbait

Dropshot

Frog

Topwater

Jig

Last time I checked I had 22 rods on board...I can't remember adding any or taking any out since then, so that's probably it for now

I typically have 5 - 6 on deck at any given time.  More than that and I feel like they're in my way.

I bring 10 setups in the rod locker, but usually carry 7-9 on the deck. Sometimes, when a pattern is really dialed in, I may carry only 2-3 topside.

Usually, I prefer to have almost all of them out. A rod doesn't do you any good in the boat locker.

What has been ending up on deck but sometimes 1 or 2 spinning rods are up top as well.

1 Crankbait rod

1 Plastics rod

1 Spinnerbait  rod

1 flip/pitch rod

 

6 on the deck at all times,the rest in the box 14, when one comes out one goes in. can't stand a cluttered deck. plus have tripped over them before when they were all on board……….hate going in the drink………more than once.

Night fishing tends to teach you quickly to keep only what you need out on the deck. I see pro's with a dozen rods out on the deck all the time, you can't with more than a few rods at one time, put them away it's a simple discipline to learn. Stepping on rods damages them and kicking overboard isn't any fun.

I usually bring 4 rigs.  If I am fishing somewhere new, or if I know the conditions out on the water will be rough, I will bring 6 rigs.

I have about ten baitcasting rigs and four spinning rigs in my rod locker and usually keep four of the bait casters and two of the spinning rigs on deck, due to limited deck space (Tracker Pro170).
