So by many accounts I've seen, 8lb Sniper fluoro is one that's supposed to play well on spinning reels.  I put some on my 2500 Stradic a few days ago and followed the usual steps.  I made sure the line came off the spool counter clockwise, used KVD L&L, applied decent pressure while spooling.

My first trip on the water with it was yesterday and it was springing off the reel something fierce!  I even let emptied my spool and drug it behind the boat for a few minutes.  Does this stuff settle down after a trip or two, or did I seriously misinterpret this line as good on a spinning rig?

When you ran the line out behind the boat did you have anything ties onto the end of the line?

The only thing I can think of is the spool may be over filled, it should be more than 1/8" from the rim of should be even with where the radius near the full level is located.

Try Tangle Free line conditioner before giving up on this excellent line, not a fan of KVD. You apply Tangle Free as needed or when you are ready to start fishing, the 2 oz bottle last a long time.

Don't put too much force when spooling line, no force is needed when retreiving line ran behind the boat as the boat is moving, water drag is enough pressure.

Never had a problem with 7# on 1000 size reels. Be odd if 8# was difficult on a 2500. 

The only thing your doing wrong is your not using braid as a mainline

I use braid on my spinning gear, but I wonder if you over filled the spool.

Nothing on the end of the line when dragging behind the boat.  I used only the water resistance as the tension when retrieving.  THe pressure I alluded to was upon initial spooling at the house.

I'll check for overfilling, that's the most likely culprit I can come up with.

I'm still going back and forth on braid vs. fluoro on a few different spinning combos.  I think I still prefer the slack-line sensitivity of fluoro...

I use 8# sniper as my main line on several 2500 series reels. Aside from making sure the line isn't overfilled make sure you close the bail by hand manually vs cranking the handle to do so. I have noticed that using the handle to do so leads to a lot more loops line mgmt. issues. All I use on my spinning reels is mono and flouro. I never have any problems when I do what I am supposed to do.

I absolutely hate fluoro because of problems like this. For years I used braid.I have found a mono that I feel is low stretch and just as sensitive as flouro without the issues.its called sufix super 21. I've only seen it at dicks sporting goods. Give it a try.eithervthat or braid with a leader.
