Missouri Fishing Question

Featured Replies

Does anybody know of any good lakes/ponds to fish for Large Mouth Bass at, that's near St. Louis? Thanks - Alex

Alex, I usually go to Tilles park in Rockhill Mo, they have some decent fish this summer and a ton of bait fish.  Haven't check much else out around here.  If you find anything good, let me know!

If you want to go a little further there are 2 lakes in Bowling Green MO. One of them, West Lake,  you have to drag your yak up the side of the dam to get on the water. This lake gets very little pressure and fishing is usually good. The other has a boat ramp and fishing dock.

There are two lakes . One with a ramp and one where you have to drag the kayak up over the dam . I have fished neither.

I'm in Hannibal  and there are a  whole bunch of public lakes with excellent bass fishing within 50 miles of me . There should be a bunch close to St Louis also .

The Missouri Conservation department prints an atlas - a guide to all conservation department lands.   I have the 2001 edition and I'm not sure if they have updated it since then, but it is a handy reference guide.

Anyone fish Tilles lately?  I tried to fish it a few years back, hit all of the banks and the dock, only to find out from the Park Ranger (who was sitting there the entire time) that they had a fish kill.  Thanks a lot buddy.  Hopefully the lake has rebounded.

Pevely and council bluffs down south.  Wilmour, carondelet, bee tree, Suson park in south county/south city and Busch wildlife in St.Charles all have decent largemouth bass populations in my experience.
