Budget Bass and Panfish rod & reel

Featured Replies

Hey BR!

I have all these little lures that I cant throw with my heavy duty casting gear, so I need to get a better spinning setup. I want a tough rod and reel that will do me good for a few seasons.

Heres what I want:

I want a 6' 6" or 6' 0" M or ML rod.

A decent, but affordable Spinning reel. I was thinking Lews or Garcia.

My budget is about $60 for everything.

Thanks!

Check out the Pfluger president combos. I have a closed face spinner that I've been using for 3 or 4 years, and it's been solid. Came with a decent rod, 6'. It was about $50 I think, they also have spinners but I have no experience with them.

Pflueger/cabelas tourney trail ml combo will get it done. I got it for 70 on special. Little bit over budget

Cabelas has those combos on sale in their Fathers Day flyer right now.

i'd cast another vote for either of the pflueger combos already mentioned above.  the trion combo is one i had before (lost the rod like a moron) and i liked it quite a bit.

Get a pfluegar Trion and match it with a medium-lite lightning rod from FFO.  The combo costs just under fifty bucks, and both the Trion and the lightning rod perform well above there price.
