New Video: The Bubba Shot

Featured Replies

Great video!

This is probably going to be my go-to technique with a Rage Craw, 1/0 spinshot hook, 1/2 oz sinker, and 15# copolymer in a specific area of my home lake.  I stopped using a standard dropshot last year after getting cut off in dense wood with a nice smallie on a few times.  This looks like it could alleviate that issue.

Great vid, Glenn.

Also, perhaps not the 'inventors', but Rick Clunn and Steve Chaconas get some credit for popularizing the technique here in tidal Potomac waters.   Good additional reading from Bassmaster couple years ago:

Just curious as to the reasons why you would use this technique over standard pitching and flipping?  Thanks

To keep the bait off the bottom.  You want to put the bait at the depth they are holding at

I tried this for the first time yesterday and caught 5 nice ones in an hour I love the regular drop shot but this is perfect for pitching and great bait placement

Nice vid, Glen. :)

Muchas gracias.

Been doing this for years!  I call it HD Dropshotting.

Regardless of what you call it, IT DOESN'T WORK... don't waste your time. :)

Excellent video Glen! Too many people think drop shotting is just for open water. One bait I've found very effective for this type of presentation is a magnum tube with a piece of foam inserted in the cavity. I use a piece of foam ear plugs. Keeps the tube up and the tentacles waving. And like you said, imparting any movement on your end is not necessary.
