Favorite frog brand

Featured Replies

Right now I am using only booyah padchrashers and I love them but I want to hear what other people are using and what they think of them. Might try some new one out in the future, thanks!

It's a toss up.  Evergreen, Deps or Lunker Hunt.  Depends on the situation.

Thinking about getting a couple lunker hunt. Interested in seeing how those legs kick

Booyah, Koopers and spro for the most part.I always want to know the hook size and go from there.

I only really use the pocket frogs, and I usually rip the legs off and put my own skirt legs in.  The legs are cool if you want to tug and pause, but if you want to walk them the legs will pretty much ruin that.

For full sized frogs with skirts you'd probably be best off getting a Koppers.  Nice detail, soft body and good hooks at a reasonable price.

Booyah pad crasher generally.  I have a Lunker Hunt pocket frog that is really working the last several weeks though.  The larger Lunker hunts fill up with water

Booya, Spro, Strike King KVD.

Spro. Scum frogs aren't terrible but the are more difficult to walk.

Scumfrog Trophy series Natural Black/Green.  5/8 oz.  Learn it.....know it....live it.  Not worth a darn at what I call "Finesse Froggin".  Light Lilly Pads, lots of open water.  It is NOT a substitute for a spook,  BUT......if, like me, you throw frogs into the deepest, nastiest cover.  This is your man.  I Do absolutely nothing to them.  I chuck em in as deep as I can them and start bringing them back.  I'll usually pause after they land for a few secondsto let that *PLOP* reverberate through the water and then givem a twitch.  If no blowup...bring it in a ways slowly and stop.  Give a twitch or two.  Do that all the way back to the boat.  More often than not, I will get a blowup....and about 80% of the blowups equals a fish in the boat.  I like other brands but when the slop gets heavy...THIS is what I throw.

ps...on sale at Cabelas right now for 4 something.  AND...if you use the coupon code 16cave you get an ADDITINAL 10% off and free shipping.  They are backordered but yesterday I bought 10 of them.

Spro all the way!

I prefer a walking frog and the Jackall Iobee  is one of the best.

Snag Proof Ish's Phat Frogs are probably my favorite, but the Booyah Pad Crashers and Popping Pad Crashers are up there, too, and they're cheaper.

The Snag Proof Bobby's Perfect Frogs are also quality, and so are Live Target.

I guess I don't understand the love for Spro Bronzeeye Frogs. 10 years ago, they opened up the world of frogging to a lot of us, me included, but the design has been improved upon, again and again over the past decade. I have a box full of at least 20 Spros, but I never use them. I hate having to squeeze the water out of them every few casts.

Spro, Livetarget, and lunker.

They fall right off and the frog fills with water worse than other brands. It's a shame because it really does look like a real frog and the action is great for a couple minutes.

Booyah Pad Crasher for me.

snagproof has been great for me as well ..

Ditto!!

Ish's Phat Frog

white, black, or Fred's frog

There's no gin clear water around me but if there was I would try the clear one.

I like the pad crasher, I've got a couple of them, a 1/4 oz, and a 1/2 oz. both catch fish. I've got a lunker hunter, like others have said, it fills with water after a couple of retrieves, and I noticed that when it got hit, the fish were grabbing it by the legs, making it impossible to hook up.

Only pad crashers. Last year I bought 4 live targets , went to the Potomac, came home with 3 ruined frogs thanks to snakeheads, then two days later I went to lake Anna and bye bye froggie , Mr pickerel takes off with a $10 frog in his mouth while I'm standing saying what in the world just happened. So I will stick with booyahs.

I caught my biggest bass to date, at least that I weighed, on a Snagproof Original Frog. The one in my avatar, actually. And it still catches 'em.

When I left Florida I had over 150 frogs in my boat - they all work - but for big bass on a windy day it is always the Furbit for me - always. I have to work them over after  fish or two and they are expensive but they are a big bass bait - weeds or open water.

As I tireless through frogs. When nothing is biting in hope of basszilla. They all work but lately I've had more spros sink out of the package than anything so I feel the need to right them off.  Atm I am fishing almost exclusively boo yah and Jakyall iobees.  The iobees moonwalk for me, they do so good. Kvd frogs are ok. I've had a few I swear the rattle gets get stuck at butt were it won't collapse
