Coastal Prisoner

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone,

New to the forum but a long time bass fisherman.  Started at 6 years old with Dad many years ago.  Got my first boat, a 12' Sears Gamefisher with a 10 hp Chrysler and wore out Lake Wylie and Monroe's city water reservoir, Lake Lee.  Bass boats got bigger and Santee, Buggs Island, and my favorite, Lake Wateree were mine to explore.  Many job transfers led me to Smith Mountain Lake, Delaware River, Chain of Lakes near northern Chicago suburbs, and Percy Priest in Tennessee.  Last transfer was to Connecticut where I fished the CT river.  There I got sidetracked and fell in love with salt water.  Stripers and fluke in Long Island sound, tuna in the offshore canyons.  Loads of fun, and I sold my bass boat and got me a Grady White.

Retired in 2006 and moved to Wilmington, NC.  Offshore fishing was good but as me and my friends got older, it was harder and harder to get a crew.  Sold the big boat and bought a Carolina Skiff rigged for inshore salt and bass fishing.  Since then I've fished Falls Lake, Jordan, Sutton Lake in Wilmington, and my new favorite, Shearon Harris.

Trying to talk wife into moving to Raleigh but she loves it here and won't budge.  Oh well, long trailering trips are now my norm.

Look forward to learning lots on this forum.

Thanks!!
