First Bass Ever!

Featured Replies

Went fishing today at the pond I described in one of my first posts here and finally caught my first bass! My heart was pounding so fast at the fact that I finally hooked one.

Thanks a lot!

It's funny how it goes... hook one fish.  And get hooked for life. I wish you luck in all your bass fishing years to come.

You are welcome. I see you caught the bass on one of the lures I recommended you earlier(spinnerbait). The particular size you used to catch your first bass is a very good size for big bass,so don't be surprised if you catch a big bass on it soon.

Awesome! ;)

Congratulations, it is cool that you have a picture of it.  Put that picture in a frame like business owners do with the first dollar they ever made.

Man it was perfect conditions for spinnerbaits. Overcast and the wind was starting to pick up. I hope I can catch some more in there. A kid that has been fishing for a few years said that the pond is very hard to catch bass in. I need a good, healthily stocked pond. Thank you for all your help!

I'm very big on keeping pictures and collecting memories. ;)

Yeah I'm hooked! Problem is I have a very very tight schedule. I'm in Drumline and my only free days for fishing are Wednesdays and Sundays. :/

More time than I have with two toddlers at home and a full work schedule.  I maybe get 4-5 full fishing weekends a year at this point, but I throw in various day trips to help with the addiction.

Learn to catch them when it's tough and when you do find a great spot it will be like cheating

X2 here. I work 6 days a week and only 1 day off which is Sunday, and Im stupid enough to promise my wife that Sunday would be a family day (after she let me buy a boat).

I can fish maybe a couple hours after work if I get off early. If i get to fish more than once a week, I would be very happy.

I hope so. Went yesterday around 11-1pm and it was some awful fishing. Need to stick to the late evenings

The white spinnerbait. Ahh...

If I had a dollar for every bass in the world that has fallen victim to a white spinnerbait...
