6'10" ML XF vs 7'1" M F

Featured Replies

looking at a new spinning rod. i like to wacky rig and drop shot. rod one is shorter but is rated for lighter baits, rod two is longer

Which do you think would suit me better? Thanks

I was just at my local tackle shop and had a great rod for this in my hand. Take a look at the Dobyns Sierra SA692SF and SA693SF. Both will cover your needs well, choosing is a matter of personal preference.

ML XF all the way. 7 foot med fast is super versatile, but for throwing a wacky worm and drop shot go with the ML. I'm curious, what are the rods?

The shorter, lighter rod would be my pick for the techniques listed.

Either will work, but I prefer the XF action for finesse techniques.

Either, really. Both are well suited. So pick the rod that feels best when you hold it. "Let the rod choose you..."

6'10' MLXF, but  6'8" MXF  would be my pick for both techniques

Are both the same brand?

I have both of those rods from that company although my 6'10" is the model with the better blank.  It would (and is) be my choice and I also use it a lot for Ned rigs.  Caught an 8 pound channel cat on it last week, so it will handle some hefty fish too.
