I've been having great success catching bass from the bank on jigs at a local park with a huge pond/lagoon system down here in NOLA. Bass lures can be hard to come by in southeast LA, and the jigs I've been using from Dick's just don't hold up. As I'm looking online, I see so many styles of jigs and no 2 styles from different manufacturers are the same. So I'm trying to get some answers from you guys. 

 

The waters I fish are full of grass, and I also like to fish lay downs and any rocks I can find. What is the best all around jig style for me to use? I've been looking into arky style jigs and flipping jigs, and they're so similar yet so different I keep second guessing myself. 

 

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Pull up chair and click on the thread at the top of this forum page "jig fishing questions" 19 pages long. There are a few newer jig related threads on this to look at.

The basic Arkie style jig should work for you, Siebert Outdoors make a top quality jigs at reasonable prices.

I was looking at the arky jigs from Siebert as I wrote this post. Think my question has been answered lol

If Seibert doesn't carry the jig you're looking for, you don't need it.

The Siebert dredge brush jig is defenetily favorite jig. It's perfection w the deepthroat hook. 

Just get yourself some Siebert jigs. They offer many different styles, and everyone seems to love them all. Out of the Sieberts that I have used, I prefer the Dredge Brush, and Dredge Football. I am fishing this in some gnarly laydowns. I will admit, however, they do seem to pick up grass pretty easily, but the grass is also very thick where I fish, so every bait picks it up.

Read through here first, then if you don't find your answer, we'll talk about jigs.

 

For a all around jig I use the E&L weapon head. It comes through cover well, flips well. just a great all purpose head.
