Mud hole with huge bass (NOT CARP) and shad but no bites
I mean its pretty obvious when you use your eyes to see a bass roll over in mid air. one was small about 2 pounds, and the other was about 4 feet away and scared the **** out of me, and had to be atleast 24 inches long, and was super fat. An old man caught a 9-5 in that cove 3 weeks after that. I dont know if that was that fish, but i know that fish was a giant. I am amazed at peoples ability to tell someone they are wrong without being there to witness the situation, so being an ******* is the right thing to do...? NOPE

Hybrid line vs: Flourocarbon line
For cheap line a 10 dollar spool of yozuri (I think 600 yards) of 15 pound test works very well. Line is pretty manageable, very sensitive, very abrasive resistant, stupid strong, but the knot strength is lacking. I tested the best knot to be a San Diego jam. Next line I'll try will be sufix pro mix or sufix superior. Sufix makes my favorite braid 832 and mono elite/siege so I'm sure the others are good as we'll

Mud hole with huge bass (NOT CARP) and shad but no bites
I've seen 2 bass (largemouth) completely jump out of the water, not including after top water baits. I've seen a lot of fish that could of been bass jump out, but these 2 were 100% bass. One was about 2 pounds that ate a dying/buzzing cicada, and the other was around 8-12 pounds when paddling a kayak to a cove. I don't know what your seeing, but I'd fish a white single Colorado blade right now.

Lure retrievers
The best is tournament choice from Academy. I work there and found them at only 4.99! Bass Pro sells one just like it for 15. Same concept as the hound dog

The Lost Lures Thread
If you're not fishing from the bank, PLEASE get yourself a lure retriever. It will easily pay for itself and prevent losing your favorite beat up lure.

New fishing LURE invention
Why so much negativity..? there's innovations to come that everyone but the inventor wouldn't consider or comprehend till they see it. Give the advice he's seeking if you have it and say good luck to the guy. OP: Goodluck!

Baitcaster for Beginner
For that price range I would get a 7' MH/f Berkley lightning rod ($40) from wal mart or a fenwick rod from ffo tackle. I got a 6'9 MH/f elite tech smallmouth ($70) and a black max ($40). The new 3rd gen. black max have really surprised me. They cast surprisingly far, breaks are nice, drag is okay, and it is a smooth retrieve. I've had it for about 8 months now and it still works great. I got this for a "river beater" combo for a float trip so I wouldn't jeopardize one of my more expensive rods and reels. Once you want to get a higher end rod/reel I would recommend lews reels and Fenwick, Kistler, St. Croix, Falcon, Lews, Dobyns, and g loomis rods. For narrowing your search of the best rod for you, do a search on here and you'll find a lot of information.

Bank fishing, where to find bass in fall?!
Largies: Chuck a lipless crank. Great for fall transition till spring. Spinnerbaits/flukes/spooks are also fish catchers right now. Once you find one, make the same cast. Good chance they will be schooled up. Once you find a school throw a swim jig or swimbait like a kietech fat to sort out bigger bass. Small jaws: As for smallies right now with river rocks, I'd think a squarebill, jerkbait/fluke, and a hair jig. Spinnerbaits as well. For fun, a good trusty bait to throw year round is the ned rig. Goodluck!

H20 xpress braid
If there was a birdsnest before you casted, even a slight one, braid may snap and send your bait down range. Most braids are strong and reliable, so for me it comes down to smoothness. 832 is my favorite so far.

Guess the weights of my bass!
Tom: What's your opinion on boga's on the lower jaw? Or the 2 hander like this- This is the 5lb13oz, also #4 from above.

Guess the weights of my bass!
Guess you didn't read anything I've posted on this topic.. I have the weight of all but one. That was the first big fish I caught, (I was 15) and the last time I'd be scale-less. I also believe it weighed more than the 6-3 I caught. The photo makes it seem small as the angle is downward on the fish.

Guess the weights of my bass!
Indiana- I had a rod w me, and a tacklebox. I didn't have a tape measure or anything but I did measure from my waist and had a sharpie and she was about 24.5". She'd be huge but she was skinny. I should of took a better picture but the bigger the fish, I have more respect so I took the picture, marked her length and released her. A-Jay- I'm so ready for the 10lb+. Don't worry I'll get a pic of her too

Guess the weights of my bass!
Guess these weights! I caught what I believe to be my biggest bass when I did not have a scale.. that being my last time not having a scale. The scale I use is the gray Rapala digital. Thanks guys! #1 #2 #3 #4 I put the pics where I'm holding it the same. It sucks bc my big hands don't do the fish justice.. ill put some others up as well

$4 Lucky Craft and Megabass?
I made an order from them about 3 months ago. I bought revolution (lucky craft) evolution (not sure) and pop max clone. Paint jobs are killer. I've tried both cranks and they all run true. Haven't had one chip, break a bill, run crooked... imo best crank ever for the money. Today I caught about 10 dinks on the lucky craft clone in the sunfish color. Last week caught this 5lb 9 oz on it.

River bass after flood?
I live in southeast Missouri, about an hour below stl. I fish many parts of Big River throughout the year. As some of you may know within 3 days I believe we got 10 or so inches of rain. How do bass react to this? not necessarily now, but in the spring. I would think now they would search new grounds looking for worms and bugs, which would cause them to get a little more weight on them.. Also would they move to the deepest pools they can find? I know it's a broad topic but any knowledge would help! As of now I'm searching it and read a few articles of it. But they only talk about the direct affects a few days later.. But what about long term after such a major flood? Thanks guys!
