New from NC

Featured Replies

Hey there, newbie here from the Charlotte, NC area.  45 year old family man and have fished off and on my whole life but have really turned it up since purchasing a property with a private lake a few years back.  I exclusively fish for largemouth but this lake has some monster blue gill and crappie that attack bass baits regularly so I guess I am a blue gill and crappie angler as well.  Actually caught an almost 2 lb (1 lb 14oz) white crappie tonight on a megabass +1 jerkbait!

Looking forward to sharing stories, photos and experiences with the community and who knows, maybe meet some local anglers.

This is the 1lb 14oz crappie I caught tonight.  For scale, that is a 6" jerkbait hanging out of it's mouth.

Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~

A-Jay

Welcome to Bass Resource. Enjoy reading & contributing in the forums.  It must be pretty cool having your own private lake.  Nice looking crappie there.  Congrats.

Greetings and Welcome to the forums :)

Welcome.  If I could catch crappie that size on a regular basis in my backyard, I might shift my focus a bit on occasion.

I'm considering it.  The blue gill are huge as well.  Here is one from earlier this year.  That is a 1/2 oz spinnerbait this guy choked.
