Swimbaits & Cranks in the snow

Featured Replies

I couldn't let a little cold and snow  stop from searching for those giant January bass that have been caught. They were hitting like it was spring time. Didn't get a water temp but would say 38-40 maybe colder. Had to keep breaking ice chunks off the guides.  This is north of where I have been fishing recently. Caught 6 bass 1 pickerel and lost a few . Big pickerel bit my swimbaits tail off after catching a couple bass on it. Another dose of snow expected tomorrow.

I gave it a shot today but after 20 minutes even with the gloves I had my hands lost function. Snowing, windy and colder today.

Judging by your recent posts, your killing em'. Your not frozen in over there? No open water to over here. I take that back there is the river but the last time I tried to go out in below freezing the line freeze to the guides.

Thanks. Some of the smaller ponds had ice recently. A warming trend is coming with temps in the mid 50's later this week.

Still going with that minus1! Curious, as usual...

So where are those fish? How deep is the spot? How far are those fish moving? What are the prey fish in that water? Very curious.

Good job getting after 'em in the winter.....Went to D.V.L. in between storms got three 14-14 1/2" and a a good'un on a black and blue jig in about 8' of water.

When one has bass fever there is no such thing as cold! Good job.
