I know everyone is tired of seeing it, but my gently used tungsten 2 tap is currently my favorite.  I'm also a big fan of the Xcaliber (now Booyah), lipless baits.   I'd probably b

Strike King Red Eye Shad in Orange Craw

My personal best smallie came on a gold XCalibur.  Otherwise, usually a RES guy.

Do Cotton Cordell Super Spots have a similar shimmy and stay upright  on the fall as do the Strike King Red Eye Shad ? *Additionally any other lipless cranks mentioned previously with a good shimmy on the fall ?

Do you know if the Spro Aruka Shad has a shimmy on the fall (like a RES) or does it pretty much drop like a rock ?

The Red Eye Shad fits my style of fishing the best.  If there are other lipless baits that shimmy on the fall , someone let me know .

The 6th sense 70 shimmies on the fall. I've never used a RES but I'm just following orders as per your instructions. :)

Cordell Super Spot just became my favorite this past weekend when Bass Pro put them on sale 5 for $10.   I picked up $20 worth.   Before that ... I like anything Rapala and of the course the original Rat-l-trap.

To clarify - many lipless crank baits fish similar when reeled straight in  but for the "lift and drop" tactic the RES may own that category application ... The 6th Sense may have it as well and possibly the new Storm lipless crank baits (TBD) . To me - that ability to shimmy on the fall makes for  more versatile lipless crank bait versus the vast majority which just flop over and fall straight down to the bottom  ... What says you ?

I do a lot of fishing from a flat bottom aluminum boat . When the Red Eye Shad is falling I can hear it going tic, tic tic...

Spro aruko shad gets another vote here!:cat-blancatideo:

Rat-L-Trap and Super Spot for me, but all I do is a simple cast and retrieve with those baits.

I used to have a favorite...but now you guys got me thinking.

That fave was was an old Bill Lewis Sparkle Trap pearl with a greenish back. Haven't fished Traps much since I lost my last one. :(
