Featured Replies

Ok. I am wondering 2 things.

1) What is your fav. jig/color for staind/muddy water?

2)What is your fav. jig/color for clear water?

Thanks a lot.

clear: white/brown/greem/purple/red/optional rattle/rattle in heavy cover

sained/mudy : black/blue black/ any dark color that you think would work/rattle

Any color water brown is my first choice and black is my second.

Clear -  lighter shades of any watermelon or pumpkin

Stained - darker shades

Muddy - Black/blue with and without rattles depending on mood of the fish

Clear water - I try match my jig color to the surroundings I am fishing.  I try to do the same with my plastics.  Most times, watermelons, green pumpkins, blacks, smokes, cinnamons get the job done.

Stained- Same colors, but add in some white and chartreuse as well as some colored flakes.

Muddy - Black baits with red, blue or chartreuse and solid white baits.  White is actually a good muddy water color.

Clear: Brown, PB&J, watermelon flash, and brown/orange. I throw these color jigs with no rattles, a trimmed skirt, and a small realistic craw trailer like a ZOOM critter craw.

Stained: Black/blue, black/blue/purple flash, black/brown/gold, and white. I fish these jigs with rattles and a slightly bulkier trailer like a super chunk Jr.

Muddy: Black/blue, black/red, black/chart, and white. I use double rattles and big bulky trailers like Paca chunks in muddy water.

Green pumpkin for clear and black/blue for muddy water rattle only in muddy water.

Hey!  That's what I was going to say.
