I was just curious, for you bass boat guys how many stand and fish all day and how many sit on those pedestal chairs and fish all day? I personally stand, in fact I do not even keep those chairs in my boat. I feel I can concentrate better standing and if thats what those pros do then it must be for a reason. Your thoughts?

I prefer to stand, or lean against the railing. *boat doubles as a bow fishing boat sometimes* so my front deck has railing aroudn 340° of it.

I like to stand or just kinda rest against the seat so my back doesn't hurt by the end of the day.

I stand 90% of the time. I don't really like to sit when I'm fishing, but gotta have a break once in awhile. When I'm trout fishing on the White River there is no option but to sit, so we spend a few minutes every hour just getting out to stretch.

I hate to sit while fishing. Only when the muscles in my back start to burn will I sit for a couple minutes.

I keep the pedastal in the front of the boat, I stand all the time and lean back against it if we are in rough water or are going to get rocked by a wake. Sometimes it makes for a good head rest after you fall to your knees because you just lost a nice fish ;D

I stand, run, jump, dive, sit, kneel, lay flat...I move around too derned much when I fish.  I run from one side of the boat to the other to chase a topwater strike, will kneel and reel a crankbait, lay flat on the deck if the water is super shallow and the fish are super spooky.  I'll jump over the consoles fighting fish.  In all honesty, I should market my fishing habits as an aerobic workout for the fishing inclined.

Sit when I am motoring around, stand to fish...

With my old backbone, I sit about 90% of the time.  My standing is only when fishing a spinner bait in close cover, flipping/pitching and making extremely long cast chasing schooling fish busting the surface.  I don't even keep my butt seat in the boat anymore.

I only stand when fishing, on sit when I move to a new spot.  I tried using the pedestal seat and hated it.

I truly think standing does add more concentration, But ole Bill Dance catches a bunch sitting on those pedestal chairs. Of course in those stocked private lakes I think he could catch them standing on his head.  ;D

I'm about read to put the fishing seat pedestal back in the boat.  I've got a pair of them and can switch between the butt seat or the regular chair.  My back just isn't what it used to be though I'm curious to see how long I last after installing this Pro Control Tray last weekend:

75/25 sit/stand.  But I've always either fished from the back of the boat or out of my jon.

only time I sit is in the console. I keep my pedestal and pro seat in a compartment unless I'm fishing in major waves, Then I just use it to lean against to avoid going in the drink.

Age and 4 bad back surgeries means whatever is comfortable. I usually sit if I'm just casting, but if I'm up on some cover I'll stand. I was so sore and tired Saturday I almost sat in the console seat to fish.

Another interesting thing I've seen is guys kneeling on the deck, mostly sight fishing, but that actually looked comfortable.

I like to stand but sometimes I don't want to be as visible to the fish when fishing clear water, so I'll hunker down.  I don't know if this makes a difference, but it doesn't hurt.  Also, my boat is a small bass boat so when I'm in choppy water I'll sit while running the trolling motor to avoid falling out of the boat.  

I stand if I am Bass fishing, usually I don't even bother to put the front seat in the boat when I am searching for bass.  However, if I am out for Pannies or Walleye, where I am jigging/drifting,  I will throw the seat in.

I like to stand or lean on my pedestal seat.  I find it a lot easier to control the trolling motor if I am leaning on the pedestal seat.  While standing, I can see the water and presence of cover or fish better.  I am a better caster from the standing position as well.
