Featured Replies

Ok this seem to come  up alot.

What are you guys towing, and with what?

What I tow:

14 foot (almost 15) Stracraft V-hull with a 9.9HP merc, 2 TMs ,2 Batteries, 6 gal. gas

I am guessing weight of package is 800-1000 pounds

17Foot 6 inch Sea Nymph Great Lake Specia,l Deep V, 75hp suzuki, 9.9Hp merc kicker, 36 volt TM, 4 batteries( sometimes 5), 27 Gal gas.  boat, motor, trailer,& gear.  Depending on what I leave at home  2,500 to 3,000 pounds

What I tow with.

I don't tow with much anymore, but still use it

1996 GMC Jimmy, 2 wheel drive, 2 door 4.3L V6 code W motor. 4 speed auto, 3.42 locking rear, and rear airbags

150,000+ miles

Main tow vehicle:

2001 Chevy Tahoe, 4x4, 5.3L V8, 4 speed auto, 3.73 rears, a few upgrades

70,000 miles

additional tow vehicle: not mine, my brother's, but use it a  few times a year.

2003 Chevy Avalanche 2500 4x4, 8.1L V8, 4 speed auto, 4.10 rears, and some upgrades

25,000 miles

What I tow:  20' Viper Coral

What I tow with:  04' Chevy Silverado longbed diesel 4x4

1991 Dodge Colt Vista (4cyl automatic) pulling a 16ft Basstracker with four to six group 29 batteries. Boat, trailer and batteries weigh around 1400 pounds. Pull it from one side of Atlanta to the other (Douglasville to Covington) almost daily down I-20 which is pretty flat for the most part. Most people are surprised at my choice of tow vehicles and how well it tows the boat. I do have to be real careful and not follow anyone closely in Atlanta traffic.

Tow a 17' Basstracker tx with a 50hp merc. behind a 2004 Ford F-150 5.4l auto w/ tow package.

Hopefully someday I can get a nice 20' Ranger or something that might make good use of all the ponies under the hood.  As for now I'm stuck with an '83 Basstracker.

Tow vehicle is a 2000 Chevy Blazer ZR2 with auto trans.

Towing either a 16' Glasstream with a 65 hp Suzuki (I figure around 2000 lbs. total) or a Old Town Discovery 169 canoe on a Shorelandr trailer (550 lbs.).
