50 or 60 lb Sunline FX2 Froggin braid

Featured Replies

Anybody have experience with this braid? Which is best for throwing hollow bodied frogs(not super thick grass)? This setup also doubles as my Carolina rig.

Lowest you can get away with. I frogged with 30lb Sufix 832 last year. Often around thick mats and it seemed to be plenty.

I've frogged and punched with 30, 50 & 65-lb braid.

In the final analysis, I feel that 50-lb braid offers the best fit.

Do you mean Sunline FX2?  If so, both are great but 50 is pretty perfect for frogging.  I've been using it for quite some time now and have yet to find anything I like better.

I'm probably going back to Sunline FX2, I was not a big fan of 50lb Suffix performance braid.

I love Suline, have the fc and mono on most reels but I have 40# Power Pro on my frog/carolina/pitching rod and have never broke it.
