Hi all, 

New member here from Saint Louis. I recently caught the fishing bug about 3 - 4 weeks ago. I'd fished maybe three to five times in the past 25 years until recently I started to really enjoy it. I've fished the past four days in a row now actually, ha. (caught one ~4-5 lb channel catfish two days ago on accident, another smaller catfish and a few largemouth). I bought my first rod about two weeks ago. It's a Abu Garcia Veritas Micro (7', MH power, fast action) paired with a Abu Garcia Revo SX baitcasting reel. 

Lately I've been fishing Preslar Lake and Queeny since they're close to me. I've been meaning to go to Silver Mines in Ironton but every time my friends go my schedule doesn't fit theirs. 

Hoping to catch my first lunker soon!

Thanks! That's exactly why I'm here! There's definitely a learning curve to this but I'm reading a lot and watching tons of bassresource.com videos on youtube. 

Spend as MUCH time as you can on the water and hopefully you can fish from a boat or kayak as they have their advantages of getting you to more fish. Bet that said, I caught a 2 lb LM last week from the bank on chatterbait so that works too! Reading and watching...that's half the battle. Hone "your" skills!
