Is this Whopper Plopper 110 the version with rattles or silent?

I just received my 5 Whopper Ploppers and I believe they are the rattle versions, however, the package says hooks silent, so I don't know what that means. The WP appears to have 3 channels with metal ballbearings in it, so I think those are rattles. When I grab ahold of it and keep the hooks and swivels immobilized, it sounds like it's rattling. It also looks the exact same as my WP 130 which also has rattles.  I'm not sure though.

Is this the rattle or silent version Whopper Plopper?

Even if it is a rattling version, they're a straight retrieve bait that doesn't really move enough to make the rattles do anything. I have one that I know is a rattling version in the 130 size. The only time I ever hear the rattles is when a fish is shaking it. I wouldn't worry about it either way.

At times a stop and go retrieve can work very well. Especially around cover.

It's still traveling in a straight line with very little movement to activate the rattles.

I don't know why they even market two versions of the bait.  Makes no difference.

So they can sell you different versions. I agree, the rattles are useless.

This.

I ordered one with rattles, and would like what I ordered, whether others think it's worthless or not.  :-)

Definitely has bb's from the photo and package indicates silent, mis packaged. Your decision to return and replace.  Why buy 5 of the same surface lures?

Because they were cheap, $10 vs. $16, I got free shipping by ordering 5, and over the years I've lost lures either to pike/muskie or other reasons so now I won't have to buy replacements when/if I lose these.

I like this lure a lot, so having spares isn't bad. Plus, I got 3 different colors, munky butt, loon, and bone.

Toothy fish makes a big difference. I usually buy 2 each hard lures in the same color to have 1 spare. Deep diving crankbaits buying 6 to find 1 good producer was common practice a decade ago, today the deep divers are better tuned so only buy 2 each.

Whooper Plooper is a modern version of the old Roberts Mud Puppy musky lure so I understand they would be a good pike and musky lure.

And that is exactly why R2S offers both.
