New NRX

Featured Replies

I recently made a post asking you all to give me some suggestions on my first high end rod. (I've been using 60-100 dollar rods all my life).

I ended up buying the Loomis NRX and it is SO much more sensitive than anything I have ever used it's almost like I have to relearn how to fish with a worm! I'm missing so many fish.

Anybody else ever ever notice this ?

Exactly why I got the NRX last month. I wanted something for bottom contact with Texas Rig. I thought I could feel the bottom but it was a game changer...

I can feel everything, I can feel the bass make a "fart" sound :)

Its a great rod and Im considering getting another one. It was my wife's idea...she saw how happy I was.

which rods did you guys end up getting? the 852s is by far the most sensitive spinning rod I have ever used.

This is what I end up with: NRX 803S JWR ( 6'8 Med-Hvy, Xfast Action)

That's the same one I have although I'm trading it for the 7 foot fast MBR just because it's more versatile.

Anyone on the fence about purchasing one just get it.  It's worth every penny!  Almost like another whole world of fishing

Haha, these threads kill me.  I think I don't need anything and I read this and feel like I have to have one!

I have two because after the first I had to have another one. Addictive like tattoos or potato chips. I bought a NRX 893c JWR and then got a NRX MBR 842c.

I've never used an NRX but I do have a couple SC Legend Xtremes (which I imagine are pretty close in sensitivity).  They've made me realize that there's such thing as TOO sensitive.  It can be almost annoying fishing these rods in grass.

I gotta calm my bait monkey down, lol.  I might suffer from the over sensitivity too.   Even an ugly stick is sensitive in my hands so if I had an NRX, it might be information overload, lol. Congrats on your new rod!

Believe it or not...I actually feel the worm hit the bottom with my 893c

Those rods spoil you. You don't realize how much better they are until after fishing a NRX for a while and you switch back to one of those $60 to $100 rods it will make you want to throw them in the trash.

I plan on comparing a GLX and NXR this weekend.

Both MH worm and jig.

Will report back

Tough to beat the 893. Incredibly sensitive and versatile. If I was forced to be limited to one rod that would be it.

NRX and the "new" GLX are great rods. Can't go wrong on any feel aps.

NRX 842c MBR is on sale at American Legacy Fishing for anyone looking for that model.
