So, I tried 44 Tackle's take on the homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog. It worked well, however, I thought a bigger swivel and split ring would help it ride higher so that you could retrieve the hollow body frog slower. I made the change to size 1 swivel and size 10 split ring. It worked well, I was able to retrieve the frog at a much slower pace and still get the tail to spin making the Whopper Plopper type sound. The problem was that the tail was now too heavy, causing the Booyah Pad Crasher Jr. to sink. So, I cut the legs off of a fullsize Spro Frog and tried it. Worked great. Caught 3 really nice fish. However, I had to squeeze water out of the frog about every 8th cast and it was annoying. I didn't have to do that with the Booyah Pad Crasher Jr. So, I am looking for the best fullsize frog that I won't have to continually squeeze water out of. I'm wondering if the Booyah Pad Crasher might work or a Snagproof Phat Frog from Ish Monroe because it is built with 2 chambers so that the frog never fills with water and doesn't have to be squeezed.

 

What is the best and most value priced Hollow Body Frog that you do not have to squeeze the water out of?

 

 

Pics of 2 recent fish off of the Spro Sprinker Frog. Fish all look small but both were over 1.5lbs. Not huge but fun nonetheless. The second fish crushed it, pulling the frogs body over the hooks and up over the swivel. I love frog fishin'! (Sorry, don't know why the pics are flipped, they aren't when I uploaded them.)

 

I use the Pad Crashers. Don't throw them a ton, but I fished with one for about an hour last Friday and never had an issue with it filling up with water. 

The Pad Crashers have a tiny drain hole at the back, which let's it "auto-drain" on every cast.  I can fish it all day long without it filling up with water. 

 

Here's how I fish it.

 

 

pad crashers are good until you catch a few fish on them, after that they tend to fill up when moved too quickly, spro does the same thing, the only frog i've found that doesn't is the river 2 sea bully wa 2 b ut it's not exactly value priced 

i saw a video on the new jackall  kaera frog which has a hole in the back inbetween the tails that drains out when you cast.

I have found that when my frogs fill up with water, they land with a more natural "splat" sound rather than a splash.  I think that this is good.

The only frogs I use are the River2Sea Bully Wa and Spittin Wa. The occasionally fill with water but not as frequent as every 8 casts, however they are more expensive.

Snag proof Ish Monroe frogs rarely get water in them. There is a popping version and a walking version.

I like my Live Target hollow body frogs but they aren't a value frog in terms of cost. I personally would go with the Snag Proof Ish Monroe Phat frog.

I'm a big fan of the diminutive Moss Mouse made by Snag Proof.  In white.  It rarely leaks, doesn't cost "more than it ought" and has great hook up percentages.  

Ish's Phat Frog is what your are looking for.

Spro never seem to fill up.

 

For a more value based, the Savage Gear lily ninja is my favorite frog. Doesn't fill up and walks great. They do get a bit jacked up after you catch a few fish though.

The one I was having fill up with water was a Spro.

You know I only run the Spro poppin frog and don't own the regular bronzeye. Guess I should have mentioned that.

 

 

In my opinion, the best value for your money is hands down the booyah pad crasher.  I've found that at almost double the price, the popular spro bronzeye doesn't collapse as well as the pad crasher, which (I think) causes me to miss more fish.

 

Although more expensive, my #1 favorite frog is currently the LiveTarget hollowbody frog.  They are really soft and collapse well, but cost twice as much as a pad crasher.  I just recently bought an EcoPro Tungsten Eco Toad to try out too.  Haven't fished it yet, but it feels really soft and has trokar hooks.  It's also more slender, so I'm hoping it's easier to walk than the LiveTargets.
