Help Identifying Lure

Featured Replies

Does anyone happen to know the brand/model for this crankbait and if they are still sold somewhere? I've searched through pretty much every hard bait listing I can find on Amazon, Bass Pro Shops, and Cabela, but haven't had luck finding it anywhere. I bought it when I was younger--it's probably been at least 15 years ago now--so I can't remember the brand or name for it. It has a pretty unique design from everything else, with a narrow ovular body, concave eyes, and a metal lip that's bent up on the sides and looks kind of like a scoop. I've always had really great success with it down at the local lake and I wanted to see if I could find some additional colors to add to my tackle box. I'm fearing it's no longer in production, but hopefully I'm wrong. Any help identifying would be wonderful.

Spence Scout, that's it! I've had the name on the tip of my tongue but just couldn't remember it. Thanks so much for the help! And yeah, the skirt's long gone. I've been using this guy for a long time so he's a little beat up :)

Any idea if Strike King still makes these or are they out of production? (A quick Google search pulling up nothing but eBay listings leads me to believe the latter...)

@ matt Litten, I did a quick search in the 2017 Strike King catalog and the Spence Scout doesn't seem to be listed.  You can download a catalog from the website strikeking.com

I looked over the 2017 and 2018 catalogs and didn't see the Scout either. I'd rather not go the ebay route but it looks like that's the only option. Too bad Strike King stopped making them :( Thanks again for the help guys.

The Spence Scout has been discontinued for some time. They do still pop up from time to time, they were the best shallow crank until the 1 minus came out. Check ebay, you can usually find some older stuff and you may be able to find some used ones for cheap as they aren't really sought after.

I'll keep searching. I've found some listings on ebay but for used lures the current prices I'm finding seem awfully expensive. I wouldn't mind paying $15 for a pair brand new at the store, but not used ones that have signs of rust and I'm not sure how much use they've actually had.

Thanks for the tip on the 1 minus, smalljaw67. Maybe I'll pick up one of those in the meantime until I can find a better deal on a Scout.

I just did a quick search, there's 4 on ebay at $10 each. All new or very good condition. I love that bait, stocked up on them years ago.
