Steering wheel cap also came off while driving down interstate. Called BP and they ordered a new one. Also has anyone had problems with the flimsy rod holders?

My dealer still has not let me know if they ordered my steering wheel cap.  Maybe i need to let BPS order me one as well.  I need new hupcaps too, espcially if they are staying on for people now.

Anyone have issues putting on new transducer, seem's like holes on boat are to low.Putting a garmin striker 7sv on.Don't want to drill anymore holes in transom.guess i'll have to put a block on,also have to patch big hole on dash where they mounted old fish finder.Instructions don't say how far below bottom of boat transducer should be

I mounted a transducer block using the holes they drilled in for the originaly fishfinder.    This way, you can patch up their work and place your transducer anywhere you like, within range of course.  The transducer block is only $20 and will allow you to make adjustments without concern.

The transducer should be just below the boat, just barely...  You what it more even than not.  Too low, and you will have a roostertail, too high and you will not get good readings.  I can still get readings up to about 10 mph, or a little more.  I cannot get reading going over 20.  I am still playing around with it.

There are many videos on youtube, few are great though, lol.  The garmin instructions have a diagram.  I moved mine as clost to the motor, on the right side.  I made sure it had clearance since it is a long side imaging one.

Nice job and it looks great. Where did you get it? I'm looking forward to the install video! Can you drive with it up?

I made a few new mods to my boat... New video ideo to come tomorrow.

The biggest check is the Bimini top.  My wife and I entered into a catfish contest.  We didn't win, but just sitting for a fish to bite in 90+ degrees was nice under the Bimini top.  Although I still got a migraine from the heat, it was after we left the lake rather than during the fishing.  I will provide install instructions later

The install was easy.

I installed mine yesterday and it is husband tested, wore approved.  We love it.  It was awesome today.  It cooled things down at least 10+ degrees.  Made it comfortable.  So comfortable, it was hard to standup and fish... Although before we put it up, we were standing up and fishing somewhat comfortable and very hot.   It was easy to install and only $145 on Amazon.

So I was coming home last Monday and I had to take an unusual detour because a telephone pole fell across the road .  My detour was down a gravel road for about 5 miles.  I don't normally travel with the cover on, I mostly go to places that are close by with roads that are paved.  I was going pretty slow, but the boat still got dusted pretty good.  So today I vacuumed up cottonwood fuzz from last week and the small bits of gravel that made its way into the boat.  I wasn't really sure how to get rid of all the dust so I just hosed down the carpet.  I parked on a hill to get a good drain, and sprayed it out.  Boy that carpet holds a lot of water!  I used a squeegee to pull the water down to the drain. I took the windshield off and cleaned that with glass cleaner and conditioned all of the black plastic.  Now I'll let it dry in the sun and see what peels up .

BTW I noticed the steering wheel cap was a little lose.  I pulled it off and noticed that it is held in with just two plastic posts coming out from the center of the wheel.  Very cheap design.  I'm not sure how I'm going to secure it better.

Excellent, thanks! It looks great! I'll add this to my list. Looking forward to the video! Looks like a perfect size!

I bought the 4 bow Bimini top just cause it was a little taller plus adds 2 feet.  Fits perfect even being 8 foot long.

The wind died down finally. The temperature unfortunately climbed. Got to try out the Powerpole Micro today. It did awesome. With the 8.5ft pole in the soft delta I could anchor in about 6.5-7ft. The delta Is very shallow for the most part so it should be fine. The pole has a 1/4-20 threaded hole so I through on the GoPro to see how it would look at the top of the pole when running around.

I have the same issue here in nebraska any if the good fishing lakes you have to take gravel witch I hate pulling my new boat down gravel roads. I did the first couple times with out the cover it's was a short road but it still got very dusty. Spent the weekend vacuuming out the carpet & cleaning the plastic. I will now tow with the cover on.i thought about hisingbthe carpet but the shop vac worked pretty well.

Whenever it looks like it needs it, I rinse my carpet with a hose in sections and suck the water out with a shop vac. It works great, even on fish blood.

A couple dabs of silicone sealer on the tabs should hold it securely while allowing one to remove it later if needed.

The tabs or posts are what will likely break.   Pull it off and check it out, it's pretty easy to separate.   Time will tell.  I probably will do something like that.

Just had taillight go out.anyone know where to get exact replacement?

I don't actually have one. It was more of a helpful suggestion for anybody that does and is worried about loosing the cap.

For the money the Heritage edition was a really good deal. It does seem to have some quality issues but so far nothing that really would be a deal breaker in the end anyways. Silly little stuff in reality.

Anyone know if these boats get shipped from Tracker with the trolling motor and fish finder installed/mounted, or does the selling dealer actually install these items?

I had the camera mounted to the top of the pole for the footage. When you double tap up it retracts all the way up and after a second it will retract the rod back down a couple inches to hold it in place for driving to the next spot. It will accept most 3/4" OD poles so the depth is expandable. The powerpole brand pole fits perfectly along the drivers side with the clips provided. Out of the way

Finally saw one of these new fangled bass catching dodads at the lake this past weekend. Really nice looking rig. Oh and it was finally the first time I took my boat out this season (Not a Heritage)... And the weather was really $H!#Y... My Luck.

I think I'd rather have an 18' Grizzly or other comparable bare bones aluminum boat that's fully equipped the way I want it. The less stuff you have on a boat, the less stuff will look like crap in a few years. And I would only want the stuff I want, not a preassembled package with things I don't want or things I might have chosen differently.

Same here, when I was looking for used boat I wanted it to have stuff I wanted on it, and eventually I found it. But the Heritage was great for the price, and folks with that nostalgic feeling, and first time boat owners ate it up.  It's a great beginners boat that's beginner decked out. I might of jumped on it if it came out when I was looking for my boat.

I asked my dealer well before I received my boat.  I wanted to install the items myself, but yes, they come shipped like this.

Thanks for responding Jaime, I was looking at other options for a trolling motor and didnt know if they were shipped already mounted to the boat..at this point I dont have a boat, and it just might be a project to think about when winter returns!

Finally got mine a week ago Thursday.  Had it out twice over the weekend.  Runs smooth, steering is stiff but I'd rather that then loose.  Wife and 2 year old cruised along and loved it.  Taking her out this weekend alone to get that first fish on board.  Adding the dual onboard charger tomorrow and the bimini on Friday. Still have both my hubcaps as well!

Taillight works, just bad connection in plug.Saved me $35.

Here my  prototype "jump seat/storage" addition for the Tracker. Will be trying it out this weekend, but I can already tell it will help keep the boat more organised and make getting up on the back casting deck easier. It will also give me a good spot for my grandson to ride.

Has anyone had problems with fish dying in the live well? It's hot down here in Texas and the underside of the live well cover gets too hot to touch. It will actually burn your hand. Splashing water on the carpet helps, but I'm thinking about trying the pink foam panel insulation that they use on houses to try and keep the heat out of the live well and save the fish.jumpseat.jpg.e44b1984cdf5aa91a1ca9313000080d5.jpg

You can adjust the steering tension. This suggestion came from Steve Clark over at the Tracker Heritage Owners Facebook group: "Back at your motor you will see a rod that slips through a large hex nut when you turn the steering wheel. Back that nut off a few threads and you will immediately notice the ease in steering."

Here's a picture of the nut.

DSC00783-25.thumb.jpg.8bba74daeede49c5d892af251c9e4225.jpg

It worked for me. Before it would take two hands to turn and after backing off the nut by 1/4 turn I can now steer with one hand on the wheel and the other on the throttle.

Another steering adjustment you can make is the trim tab. Once you loosen up the steering you may notice turning left takes more effort than turning right (this was my case). By turning the trailing edge towards the easier side, the opposite side will be easier to turn. For me the trim tab was centered from the factory. I have adjusted it to be almost all the way to the right to make the force required to turn left and right to be about the same amount. Page 37 in the Mercury manual explains all of this.DSC00788-25Cropped.thumb.jpg.20c775706079054ca45966163264aeb5.jpg
