I T-rig my dropshot baits for a couple of reasons.  First, I fish a lot of grass/weeds and nose hooking gets hung up waaaaay too much.  Second, anything longer than a Yamamoto Shad Shape Worm tends to lay vertical when nose hooked.  It's physics...all of the weight of the bait is behind the hook.  You would have to use a pretty large Dropshot weight to be able to put enough tension on the line to keep the bait horizontal.  The hook I use is a Gamakatsu #1 (not 1.0) EWG.  It's a thin wire hook so I adjust my hookset accordingly.  No crossing their eyes with this setup, just a sweep to either the right, left or up depending on my position.  I actually caught fish Saturday on a submerged road bed  by casting across it and slowly pulling the bait across both side ditches.  

I’m just getting into drop shorting what are the staple hooks to buy that are proven?

Gamakatsu Split Shot/Drop shot hooks and Owner Mosquito hooks.

those work great for nose hooking .for texas rigging the the roboworm rebarb hook works well

Both are stupid expensive, but they both have been almost flawless on hookups so far and the Finesse Heavy Cover (a very awkward name imho) has the best keeper I have ever seen.  

That Robo was still catching after like 5-6 good sized bass, with the Robo hooks I was getting maybe 1-2 fish per worm.  

I use Zoom finesse worms, and the 3” BPS Stik-O.  Usually nose hook them unless I’m fishing in vegetation then I t-rig the baits. 

None worm would be, Fluke for me anything from tiny Fluke to super fluke(deep water). Another type that was pretty good is grub. I can shake or slow drag with this.

I've tried a lot of hooks for dropshot but for bank fishing or around cover I like Gamakatsu #2 EWG hook and roboworm rebarb #1.

Poor Boy's Erie Darter/Dropshot Goby for lakes near me with gobies in them. I've had great success with the Keitech Custom Leech as well, especially in black, as well as Ice Fish in super clear water

My two favorites are on your list! The Jackall Crosstail Shad and the 4" Zoom Lizard have been very productive for me. With that said, my biggest drop shot bass was caught on the back half of a broken Trick Worm that I picked up off the floor of my boat.
