I know they’re just coming out, but has anyone bought one or tried one yet? I’m about to order one, but haven’t seen one in person.

I’ve handled one and was not the least impressed. Felt like a Fuego with deeper spool, bigger handle. Think people would be bette off with a 100CT or Tatula SV, or Type R. 

 

We we had the Northwest Sports show in Minnesota here recently, that’s where I handled it. I would not spend the 150 they are asking.

Mine came in but I haven’t used it yet. So far, it doesn’t feel as smooth as I would have expected just turning the handle on an empty spool. I’m a big fan of Daiwa but maybe I’m spoiled from using my Steez. I bought the lower gear ratio to put on my crankbait rod.

I have not handled one but noticed that the Type Rs and SVs have better bearings which may be the reason why the 150 is not as smooth. 

I’m interested in what people have to say with their experiences of the reel and what it brings besides more line capacity.  

Been a minute since you posted this. I have both a Type R and a 150 and have used both of them side by side.

I would not say the Type R is smoother. They are similar feeling reels. The 150 is a little larger and heavier.

Both cast great and work really well. The 150 is a really nice reel.

i'm interested in the 150 also. I fish the tatula CT's and was looking into upgrading a few. I'll keep checking back here to see what people say.

I own these 4 and spent  yesterday throwing 3/8 oz weight into a river for steelhead.

tatula sv, tatula ct r, bantam mgl, chronarch mgl.

 The clear choice to me as the easiest, smoothest casting reel with butter smooth retrieve is the tatula sv. Nearly effortless casting and no thumb needed. 

My 2 cents , your mileage may vary.

It is not an upgrade.  It is the older pre CT Tatula platform with a longer handle and dual aluminum side plates.  The gear set might be hardened brass which would make it more geary feeling.  I like Tatulas but if I wanted a higher capacity reel to compliment the Tat100 or SV I would opt for the Curado K.  If I wanted an upgrade from the Tatulas I would find a mint SV103 or new Steez A.

The Tatula 150 is super smooth. No gear feel at all. It's smoother that the three  Curado K reels I have.

 

I have 1 and am very happy with it.  I also have the SV which is slightly better in my opinion.
