Getting Deps Slide Swimmer Repainted

Featured Replies

I've been thinking about buying one of the old Deps 175s on eBay and having a someone who does custom jobs repaint it. I guess the first question, having never handled a Deps before, is would that even work? Can he body hold a new paint job?

The second question is what color. I've been leaning toward carp or something similar since I'll prob be using it a lot in ponds.

Thanks

my thinking is there are 2 ways to do it you could use soft plastic paint and paint the skin or depending on the colour or the skin you could paint the body underneath

as far as the 2nd question i would go with carp that sounds cool what is the colour you're looking at

The newer, injected 175 swims better than the OGs and comes in a variety of really nice schemes, including carp.

I had several of the 175's though, the swim is not impressive imo. They like to nose up and just really not glide that great. I've gone to all Shine Glides or Donut Shads for less and around the same price range.

I love my 175s a little tungsten putty in the front lip and nose up problem is gone, just tune them to your likings. Here are two awesome guys to deal with, ones a painter and the other does wraps. Both do great work and are easy to deal with.

Pizz customs does some serious paint.  The bait comes in a carp pattern already so there is little value in a repaint of a color already available.  I like the kata bass and it works well. The swaiver 200 weighs the same and is a lot cheaper.

I would custom paint the bone 200 S Waver.

Deps 175 &  250 glides colors are not what makes these lures work, they do need tunning.

Check out the Jackall Dowz swimmer. They are taking pre orders on TW. $50. Looks like an awesome glide. I cant wait to get one. I already bought a Baitsanity Trout explorer. Next glide will def be a dowz. Watch the japanese videos on youtube.

Contact Tim Hughes. He has done some custom painted lures for me and they are awesome.
