just wanting get get some of yalls thoughts that might have handled these. currently have and love the tatula series but was wondering about the little older zillion line and how they may stack up.

 

currently looking at the (silver)Zillion 100H (High Speed)
& Zillion TW 1516H

and I own a few of the  Tatula CT

 

The og zillion is a 12yr old workhorse reel that’s dang near bulletproof. The only drawback one could say, is it weighs almost 9 ounces.

Exactly !

 

But I don’t care about the almost 9 oz weight, I eat my spinach before fishing with one, problem solved.

Same here. I never found it to be an issue. With most of today’s reels being in the 6oz range I’m sure someone would complain though. 

if you were to choose between the  100H  and the 1516H TW which would u go with

The CT and older Zillion will palmbetter, but the 1516 is a better reel in almost every other way. It's probably the smoothest reel I own. More so than the Steez A TW, which also has magseal. The 1516 spool is excellent for casting.

Whichever you like better. Some of the materials they used to use are too expensive to use these days. I like lighter reels, but there’s nothing like the feel of the modern engineered older reels.

I have the old zillion and it has worked great.  I have cast the new one and I think it has a better breaking system.  My old zillion is kind of unpredictable when it comes to breaking.  It also seemed that the longer I fished it (getting the reel wet) the less effective the braking was.  With that said, it is a work horse.  It has never failed to produce fish for me. 

The OG Zillion is a true workhorse. What I love about them is that you can take a 10 year old reel, replace the bearings and clean it and it’s like a new reel. Bad thing is not many spool options. I’d still go with the OG Zillion
