7" Rage Tail Anaconda in Green Pumpkin

 

In the dreaded hot, humid, blue sky days of summer, the specific bait mentioned has but some quality fish in my boat.

Fished on a T-Rig or C-Rig from 8ft - 20ft of water.

Even the little guys will fully ingest this bait.

Just thought I would share my experience.

 

Anyone fishing this bait as a Go-To for smallies?

 

I've seen it in stores... not sure I would be willing to try it tbh lol. It's like a jelly worm... huge and cumbersome looking. I'm sure it works, I just wouldn't know what to do with such a monstrosity.

It's a 7" worm, same length as most other worms.  I actually like 10" size better.

I have caught smallmouth on a 6" Zoom u tail worm and also a trick worm. Wasn't expecting to catch a smallmouth on either one.

Well the worms I fish are only 5" or so... maybe I should try a bigger one sometime! They say bigger is better...

Yup!  Great summertime bait.  This video was shot in 90-degree weather.

 

 

I used to throw a plastic snake for river smallies weightless along the surface and it drew some good strikes. I ran out of them years ago and haven’t seen them in stores since. I also can’t quite recall the brand

7" has been the standard for ribbon tail worms for decades.  It's really only a 4-5" worm, with a sickle tail.  The Anacondas are unusual in that the tail is MUCH longer, but with much more action.  Try them in either size, with at least a 1/4 oz. weight, and you'll see what I mean.

Caught a 5.5 Smallie on an inland lake on  a ten inch power Worm once but that was a surprise. Most of the hundreds...thousand maybe...4 pound plus Erie Smallmouth I've taken on 2.5 to 4" plastic baits. And with the increased pressure I'm leaning toward smaller all the time.

Hey a 4 lber sounds good to me... I've caught one close to 2 but that's best I've gotten thus far lol.

I am using the 10" Anaconda in my Largemouth Fishing but not a primary bait for Smallmouth.

For smallies however, that 7" one will catch 'em when nothing else will .....

I use trick worms all the time for smallies. One if my go tos for any bass.
