Hard Day For Gator Fans

Featured Replies

After 31 consecutive wins against Kentucky, one of the longest streaks in all of college football, the Florida Gators lost 27-16 last night.  The game ended with a gator fumble and Kentucky picked it up and ran it for a touchdown to close the win.

While I am not a Gator fan, Florida will return to its former dominance in a few years. Dan Mullen is a great coach/recruiter. It also helps that Florida is in one of the best states regarding recruiting.

Not one of the longest... THE LONGEST!

We LSU fans were very upset when Franks switched to Florida. But it was LSU's fault for firing Miles and leaving the head coaching position with an interim coach.

We always wondered what LSU could accomplish with a QB like Franks.

It is enjoyable watching Franks play for Florida and I hope he does well, other than for the LSU game, of course. :)

Now beat Florida State!!!

Yeah, there have been quite a few, but a lot of blowouts too unfortunately.

Tennessee got pretty close, 26 or 27 straight. 1984 to 2011 if memory serves

Dan Mullen is a great coach and should help turnaround the program. Jim McElwain was a step back for Florida and will take some time to recover.BTW all Florida fans should despise Urban Meyer for what he did to the program as well as what hes done at Ohio State. At one time the SEC East was stacked with Florida reigning supreme. But over the last decade, the SEC East has been a joke. The SEC West specifically (Alabama, LSU, Auburn) have carried the conference for a long time. I would love to see the East come back and help strengthen the overall conference.

Yeah, at one point UK was on the wrong end of the #1 and #2 active losing streaks between two teams (Florida and Tennessee).

Please! haha. That stupid tomahawk thing they do drives me nuts. A few years ago the ACC was a good conference with Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Clemson, FSU, Miami, VT, Louisville are being great programs but it's losing some steam. Clemson is the only major player in the conference and gets a cakewalk of a schedule every year regarding conference play. I'd like to see Clemson play in the SEC or Big 10 with the big boys.

Could happen.

NCAA is on the schools to schedule top schools in lieu of cupcakes. I know LSU will be having home and home games in the future with Texas and also Clemson in 2025 and 2026 and other big football schools.

The SEC and ACC teams play the cupcakes for three reasons:

1.  Political (UK and Louisville)

2.  Easy wins (LSU and Southeastern) to get to the magic number of six wins to qualify for a bowl game.

3.  To pay the smaller schools a lot of money so they can continue to come back and get their brains beat in, like Appy State, Alabama State and the University of Richmond.

Stay tuned. We will see more top games in the future.

Well, here we go. Have to give it to ky. this year. They were the better team. They would have won even without  the bad calls by the refs. That running back is a beast.

This week should be interesting. On paper, Tenn. is better, and theyre at home. I think Florida is a little further along in the rebuilding though. I could be wrong. If franks and the O-line plays well, The gators should win.Thats a big "if" though. Its fixing to get real now for both teams.

Yeah, I can see this next game going either way honestly.  I’m so excited, it should be a good game!

That loss to ky. though. oh man .?

It was bound to happen someday. The last time Florida lost to them at the swamp was the year before I started school there .1979 !?
