I’m thinking Mojo Bass or Veritas? Thoughts on either or any others. $150 is all you got to spend, how are you spending it?

I would go with Irod genesis 2 or a dobyns fury.  Both are amazing company’s, you can call both and talk to someone. Great customer service and rods are above quality

Daiwa Tatula is the best rod I’ve ever used in that price range 

I'd go with Dobyns Fury,  Daiwa Tatula, and Okuma TCS you can get the tcs for under $100 on amazon (usually $150 on TW).

I have a 6'10" MH/F Tatula that would do you well (I think I paid $110 on amazon but normal retail is $150). I also like the Mojo Bass line, but the Tatulas seem to have a little more tip where the Mojo Bass equivalent is lighter in weight (although the Tatula is not heavy).

 

Another option I would suggest that might run a little above $170 is the Dobyns Sierra 704C. That rod has a very stout tip and would be a better option of you're looking to cast lures over 3/4oz.

Got to agree.  Excellent rods.

Okuma Helios is a very good rod I have the 7'MH/F very light well balance and sensitive. Its on sale for $102.46 at walmart.

Would recommend the others above over a St. Croix product.  Good quality but their MH and Heavy rods weigh a lot especially in the tip.  Try them out side-by-side with other brands you’ll know what I mean.

Is Dobyns mail order only, I would like to feel one before I buy. 

Academy sports usually has a few in store.

I don't find the St Croix rods to necessarily be tip heavy, it's more that their rods are often lighter than others of a similar power and action.

THey are in some stores but not any near me. I love them and irod.  Both are amazing

Here’s my next 7’ MH/F rod. Still recuperating from the Dobyns Xtasy/Shimano Bantam purchase...Phenix Feather 7-1 $149. I have no problems buying rods without holding them if A. There are some good reviews out there (lots of gushing reviews on this rod) and B. It’s a rod that’s in demand so I can sell it if I want too (the Feather is one of the hottest rods on the market right now)

x3 on Tatula original not XT. I got 3 of those myself. It is pretty light and sensitivity is pretty reasonable. Also true to weight 1/4 up to 1 oz. I don't like new seat on new 2018 Tatula line if you can find the old one for about 100+ that is money well spent.

My first dobyns fury was a gamble, since I never held one before ordering. I now own three.

They are hard to beat in the $110.00-$120.00 range. to me theiir action run a little lighter than most rods. a medium heavy fury is  similar to a medium action in most other brands.

I have a 7ft 3in medium heavy, a 7ft 3in heavy, and a 7ft medium action cranking rod. love them all

 

Another rod I took a gamble on after several reviews here was the Kastking speed demon pro rod.

they are also in the $110.00 dollar range.

It's action tends to run a little heavier than most other rods. I now own 3 of them also.

I have a medium action jig.worm casting rod, a medium light spinning shakyhead rod, and a medium action 6ft 10in casting jerkbait rod. love all of them also. 

 

These 6 rods are used for 90% of my bass fishing.

Agree, especially at that sale price! A solid rod. Very lite, sensitive, and strong rod. Under the radar imo and a steal at $80. 

I have become a big fan of Dobyns rods lately.

 

If you end up going with a Fury, get a H power. Their H power (704, 734, etc..) is about the equivalent of a St Croix MH.
