New in Milwaukee

Featured Replies

Hello all! Just recently moved to the Milwaukee area due to my job and also new to Bass Resource. Love to go bass fishing whether it be smallies or largies. Looking to get out on the Milwaukee reservoirs to help my bass addiction. If anyone else is in the area that may want to meet up and fish or if you have any tips for this area, feel free to message me!

Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~

A-Jay

Welcome. You may have some trouble finding any "reservoirs" in the Milwaukee area ?. There's a good number of natural lakes in the suburbs, from what I know they're pretty busy with recreational boat traffic (no surprise). Couldn't tell you anything about the bass fishing since I'm only familiar with Pewaukee since it's got musky. Maybe someone else has got more info, if you look around online I'm sure you'll find something. Otherwise just get out there and find out for yourself!

I'm also big into musky fishing! I came from Madison and fished the Madison chain really hard over the years, and now I have to start all over again! I have heard good things about Pewaukee Lake as well. Will you be attending the musky show next month?

Does anyone know of any storage places in the Milwaukee area fora 14-16' Lund? I'll be searching for a boat this spring, but being in an apartment complex, raises some issues on storage. Thank you!

I'm from Madison and will be moving back soon after graduate school. I can't make it to any of the expos this year unfortunately. The only one I've been to is the Madison expo which caters to all species, but I'd like to go to a musky-centric one in the future. I fish up north 90% of the time but I have caught two musky in Madison in my two attempts so I do enjoy it there.

Very cool and best of luck finishing up grad school! This will be my first time going to the Milwaukee musky expo. I go to the Madison expo every year and also the Minnesota musky expo as well. Would definitely recommend the MN one, but it is a haul just for a weekend. I primarily fish up north as well, but when I have a free weekend in Madison, you can find me on one of the bodies of water there!
