I’m debating between a st. Croix bass x casting rod and st. Croix mojo bass casting rod. I plan on using it for Texas rigs only.

Yes sir. They fish about a power heavier than their rating.

I fish mostly St Croix rods and don’t agree that they run that much heavier than other rods, they all have good, strong backbones but Ive found the lures ratings to be spot on. 

And the Mojo tips seem to be just the right touch softer than most. 

I would get the Mojo.  I've had both and find the Mojo is more accurate in it's power ratings.

The BassX's seemed a little light to me, although I only had a MH/Moderate.....

There is no true power ratings but they fish at least a 1/2 power stronger than most brands, not quite a full power. But definitely a M Mojo Bass from St Croix has more power than a Shimano Zodias, etc.

So the medium action 7’1 should be strong enough to fish in all types of cover and structure?

I would say no. I think the MH would be better suited for fishing t-rigs around grass.

I fish mostly 1/8oz weights and baby brush hogs and 7.5inch worms, you think I’ll be able to pitch such a light rig on the mh?

You can pitch just about any weight lure with even a heavy power rod.  It's casting that gets tough with too stout of a rod.

 

If I were you, I'd be deciding between two rods:  Mojo "Jigs and Baits," or Mojo "Spinnerbait."  

 

The spinnerbait model has a bit more give in the tip so it would be better for lighter lures, but may be a bit light for dragging a bass out of cover.  If it were me, I'd go with the "Jigs and Baits" if I planned to mainly pitch with it.  Hope that helps dude.

Also I’ve noticed the handles are bit shorter than other rod brands, how well does it work with large hands?

The jig n baits Mojo has a softer tip and is lighter in hand than the Bass X equivalent. I actually prefer the Bass X, I like the handle on it better too. I own both. I think the mojo version is a great swim jig rod. Both are quite sensitive.

I would not buy sight unseen or un touched. With any kind of luck you can get to a dealer that has the Bass X, MoJo’s and the Premier Series Rods. 

 

You’ll find the feel you’re looking for. If you can bring the reel you are going to use with you also. 

 

I like the Premier Series Crankbait Rods but that’s not helping you at all. 

 

I could be wrong on this his but I don’t think I am, but on the Bass X series rods I believe they are less one guide on average compared to the Premier or Mojo series rods. May mean nothing but maybe it does. 

FWIW, the Mojo line uses a better blank than the Bass X or Premier. Not sure how much difference it makes in real world fishing scenarios but in theory it should be more sensitive.
