What is your favorite punching plastic!?

Featured Replies

The past few weeks I've been hot on a punching bite in my area. The vegetation is thickening right up and as the heat rolls in the bass are moving into cover. I've been using a ton of different plastics but I'm curious what your favourite punching plastic or plastics and WHY!?

I'm assuming you mean Texas Rigged. If so, then either a Rage Bug or Sweet Beaver.

R.I. double wide beaver. Why? Cause it gets bit and will take a 6/0 hook.

Pitboss, Rodent, Yomoma, and Menace.

+1 ... All of these have the right shape with few appendages to get caught on vegetation . I will also interestingly enough also use a 4" ~ 5" Senko for punching . *Reminds me of a Roland Martin TV episode where he was punching with a Senko down in South Florida thick mats  ... Roland gave credit to a guy named "Tom" (from California) who apparently perfected the technique up at Clear Lake back in the early 1970's . Sounds believable to me !

Big Bite Baits Craw Tube and Berkley Pit Boss. The craw tube gives you a slower fall presentation than most beaver style baits. It's also more slender than most of them, too.  Great for the really thick stuff that's hard to penetrate.  Another reason why RM likes a Senko for punching.

Berkley Pit Boss is probably my favorite, but I also use the Missile Baits D-Bomb too.

Any tube or plastic gizmo you punch through heavy stuff with a heavy sinker is going to get bit if they are there - they don't have much time to examine the bait.
