I discovered a new presentation.

It takes work, but if you keep at it you can master it.  It involves casting a yellow mister twister meeney spin into the wind and getting a nasty backlash.  Let the bait sink to the bottom while you pick out the backlash.  I was worried about getting tangled in the trolling motor, so I reeled in over the backlash and pulled in a smallmouth.  I cast out again to get at the backlash, finally got it picked out, and reeled in a nice (26" or so) northern pike.

I think this one will probably catch on.

Somehow, I think someone else discovered that technique before you did.   ??     jj

I invented a new one yesterday as well!

It’s the wacky-rigged glidebait.  You simply wrap your line around both trebles on the cast.  It really mimics a very very distressed baitfish pretty well.

I’ve been using that one for some time now.

Yeah, all you need is a spool filled to 1/3 or less. Then it does that halfway through every cast. Happened to me last week. Forgot my line level was low. Remind me next time to remember to fill every spool to the top before going away. Even the spinners were low and casting to the end every cast. Terrible.

I use that technique on occasion down south as well, it works for LMB too.

It's important that you use a lure that isn't designed to just sink to the bottom and lay there.  That's key.

That presentation has been around for years. Because this is a family forum I can’t say it’s correct name.
