everyone keeps telling me...

...to try lucky craft lures. Okay I am not a cheapskate and do not mind paying for what works...but $16 for a crank bait?

for $16 dollars that lure had better "lure" fish from across the lake and catch fish everytime it hits the water.

Anyone have any experience with these lures?

this season i have thrown rapala, norman, and LC baits...caught one dink on the rapala and several better quality fish on both of my LC baits...this is just my experience

There is no doubt that there is better quality, craftsmanship, etc. in LC lures - I have even heard that there is a lot of science behind the designs, the sounds they make in the water and the colors -- but on the other hand, have you ever taken a real close look at big ol' juicy night crawler?  They both catch fish under the right conditions and one costs a bit more than the other :o

Lucky Craft lures are on sale "in store" most of the time. Not every lure, but some. The average price of my collection is under $10. The specific lures that really "stick out" are the Pointer, Slender Pointer, LV series (lipless crankbaits) and Sammy. I have recently started collecting their crankbait series, but have not fished them yet.

I would only chime in with the consensus here, Lucky Craft produces quality stuff.

Are Lucky Craft lures worth the exorbitant prices they charge???

Well guess what, we the fishermen have already answered that question.

No company can charge more than the traffic will bear, or they would price themselves out of the market.

So in effect, it is "we" who set the price :o

The Sammy's are hard to beat. I have tried other top water/surface lures recently and there is a difference. The LC's cast farther and are much easier to "walk the dog" with; the action is much tighter and compact. The finish is top notch. I have the "black bee" (?? - don't think that is the name but is a dark black) and Ghost shad and Ghost minnow.  Would replace any of them with another Sammy if I lost them.  Can't say that about the others I have.

......and the end piece of this logic is that if they did not perform, we would not continue buying them...a valid point.
