Football Jig trailers?

Featured Replies

I've been dragging footballs on deeper ledges recently (1/2 and 3/4 oz mostly in either black n blue or pumpkin green colors).

What trailers do you like best when fishing the footballs deep (8-15 ft)?

I've been using two kinds:

1. twin tail grubs

2. Zoom Speed craw

Thanks

SC

The only trailers I use are twin tail grubs like you mentioned or a Sweet Beaver. Not that other trailers don't work, I just do well with these. I keep four colors of each.

Black, Purple, Watermelon, and Green Pumpkin.

I like the twin tail when I am fishing ledges or fishing fast and I use the Beaver when I am fishing slower.

You can add almost any kind of soft plastic bait to your jig as a trailer, one my favorite combos is a 1/2-1 oz jig with a brush hog for trailer.

I remember the first time my compadre and my friend Moises saw me with that combo:

M.- " U s*ting me ? do you think they 'll bite "   :-?

C.- " Hey compadre .... ain 't that a lil bit large ? "  :o

R.- Moi .... think big, they 'll come  ::) , compadre, that 's the idea  :), big bait, big bass

3 casts later I landed an 8 pounder.  :)

single tail grubs, twin tail grubs, critter craws, salt craws up to 7", small chunks, large chunks, beavers, etc.

zoom speed craw

Super Pork any time of year.

Halijedi as in FNN Halijedi?  I'm used to seeing you with pictures of halibut not bass.  But then again I gave up on that site over a year ago.  Too much drama for me.  Well welcome aboard.

I like either a GY twin tail grub or a netbait paca chunk. They both seem to work real well. The netbait holds up a little better though, more than one fish a trailer.
