Budget Small Swimbait (1-3oz) Rod

Featured Replies

Hi all, in the market for a budget small swimbait rod to be used mainly for treble hook lures but also for some smaller jig style hook lures.

Will likely be pairing with a Cardiff 300a and 20lb YZH

Any suggestions for a rod? I tried searching the forum and the consensus seems to be Okuma Guide Selects and Irod Genesis rods but trying to see what else is being used/recommended.

Ditto. It's hard to find a rod that will do well for both treble and Jig hook sown baits but the Fury lineup is on the faster side but you'll still load up about half the blank whne you set the hook on a fish.

For a few bucks more, imho, the Irod is a great value, light, well built, and it just looks dang good. I have a couple of em.

I picked up this Piscufun Serpent for the same purpose when it was on sale for $60: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CHKYZ5G/ref=twister_B07CHJ5R2S?_encoding=UTF8&th=1

It is back up to full price at $90 now but keep an eye on it and it'll probably jump back down. The rod is fine.
