The Rebel Ringworm

Featured Replies

I always thought that the Rebel Ringworm was a really good plastic worm. I used to fish them a lot years ago. The rings displace water on a slow retrieve, and provide less plastic for the hook to penetrate, on a T Rig. I'm down to just a few now. Does anyone recommend a replacement for this one?

I like the Zoom 4 inch dead ringer which is close to the rebel in action and form. I keep plenty especially around the spawn.

I still have some 10 inch ones I believe . Not sure they are Rebel though .

I used to throw a 6inc lizard that had a ring worm main body, would you happen to know if they still make em?

I think Grande Bass used to make one but it has been discontinued. It was a great bait for me but I guess not enough to keep it in production.

Ebay is your friend. The Rebel Ringworms can occasionally be found still today.

I just bought a 100 count of "4 black ring worms, with a single curl, white tail from Venom lures.

Growing up fishing the muddy Mississippi. We used to wear them out with a worm very similar to the above. T-Rigged under a 1/4 bullet weight and a 3/0 hook.

I'm looking forward to throwing them again, in a new AO and pretty positive a lure they have not seen.

I had great success using a 4" version as a chatter bait trailer last year, better than any version of Rage swimmers, craws or grubs did by a long shot!

These are like the ones I have. Mine are a red color. I've got for left. Those grape colored ones on the right look like killer.

If you want some solid ringworms look into bfishin tackle, it’s a company out of the Midwest here that makes a bunch of different walleye soft plastics. They have a huge amount of different colors of ringworms, even though they are technically made for walleye it’s the same thing. Caught a huge amount of walleye on them and a good amount of smallies too, even had some good success with them on a dropshot. They also make a super unique grub for you guys that like to fish grubs, displaces a lot of water and the tail moves with the tiniest amount of movement.
