Another old lure that I still carry but havent used in a few years is the Dalton Special .I just acquired a new one and the only reason I havent used it is because of the chara algae in the lake I fish most makes it impossible to use any treble hook lure shallow . Back in the 90's I forced myself to use  a top water for at least one hour every time I went fishing . The Dalton Special was the bait that caught the most fish .

I've always wanted a Dalton Special. I've never bough one. I can't fish treble hook topwaters through much of the summer either, due to chara and milfoil. The Dalton Special always looked like a good bait. I'd probably go with a frog pattern

  • 25 years ago would be 1995, seems like yesterday. I would say most of the lures I still use are at least that old. I have Roboworms older then that! Tom

I'm gonna change it up a little from the usual as I have been a creek/River fisherman most of the 25 years I've angled.

My go to lures would be...

A.C. Shiner model 250 or 450

Rebel Crickethopper

Bomber Long A

Rapala Husky Jerk

Soft plastics of crawdads and hellgramites for ned rigging.

Zoom 6" lizards

Assorted Rebel crankbaits. On occasion a Norman deep baby n.

Rebel Ringworms on occasion. The majority of my plastics are Zoom and R.I.

I have and use older Rebel pop r's and have done well.

If it caught fish 20 years ago it will catch fish today.

For the poster that miss the Rebel deep wee r, ebay is your ticket.
