New 6th Sense Axis Squarebill?

Featured Replies

Anybody get their hands on the new 6th Sense Axis squarebills yet? Apparently a small production run was made and were being sold at Academy Sports stores. If anyone has got their hands on one I'd like to hear how you feel about it. It's certainly different than any other squarebill I've seen.

I got one from 6th sense. Unfortunately the first bass I caught with it (3lber) pulled the snap right open. I was using a 2018 megabass XX emtf rod with the drag fairly loose. The snap should have never failed. I attempted to contact 6th sense by social media and email but didn't get a response. I wouldn't think a $15 crankbait snap would fail like that.

It has crazy action, wobbles back and forth 6-8 inches. haven't used it a ton but it was impressive. Doesn't dive nearly as deep as it looks like it would either.

What size line are you using? I imagine you could go lighter and make it go a little deeper, but in the same token, if you fish a squarebill thenway I do, you may no want to go much lighter than 12-15

Just got mine in the last remaining colors.  Not my first choice of color, but wanted to see the action.  Taking out this week to test it.

Some feedback was given on thread linked below.

Oh ok.  15 for me too... I guess if you HAD to get it down you might could go to 10... but I personally have other sqaurebills that get that me a full 6 ft.

ive been using on 12 lb pline tactical fluoro. it gets down around 5 ft occasionally. The action is great but i'm not able to rip it through grass like i do a 1.5. Caught 4 fish in 5 casts sunday morning on it fishing an offshore hump. Really good crankbait for rock/rip rap areas, not so great for soft bottom or grassy areas

Who wants to sell me one - Albeit at an inflated price???

Once these are old news someone will copy the metal lip off Supernatural Big Baits headlock/mattlock musky baits which eliminates the snap and uses a pin. But that would be even pricier ?.

EDIT: I didnt realize the lip actually pivots. Thought they just threw a snap on a metal lip. Thes different i suppose. Not worth $15 to me but maybe to some.
