Mister Twister Phenom Worms have been around for a long while and have caught bass everywhere.  They are an old-school style worm: no scent, no salt, a bit sturdier plastic than many other worms on the market today, which makes them fairly durable. They are also fairly light weight. And $3 for a 20 pack is great value.

I use them as finesse worms and fish them on spinning tackle, either as as jig worm, or on a split-shot/mojo rig.  The curly tail makes them fall slower than a straight-tailed worm, and gives good action when you drag them.

Google Dick Trask and you'll see how awesome those worms are, especially on a split shot setup.

Welcome to BR.

Strange worm question considering your opening question about baitcasting reels.

Mister Twister gets credit for introducing the curl tail worm. You need a rod, line and hooks to go along with worms. Unlimited number of worms to choose from and since you are from Brownsville Texas I will assume you fish Amistad.

What rod are you considering and line??

Do the new worms really have no scent?  I’m working on my last 100ct bag from 20 years ago and it still has the awesome banana scent

They have experimented with scents off and on, but the newer ones don't have any scent. I also have a few that must be 30 years old, and they're scentless too as far as I can tell. So the banana scent must have been just for a period of time.

Skip the pack and buy this instead

Shipping is going to be the same either way and in my opinion this is the best purchase you can make to get started with soft plastics.

Though it may vary, the two packs ive ordered have contained:

Soft Jerkbaits

Worms of all sizes

Stickbaits

Swimbaits

Grubs

Trailers

Toads

Favorite Phenom worm colors......Go!

-Junebug

-Red/black core bloodline

-Grape/Blue flake, pearl tail

-Motor Oil/Red flake, chartreuse tail

-Perch
-Pumpkin/Green Pepper (currently unavailable, but they still have pumpkin pepper)

Black, black w/blue tail, motor oil pink tail

There are no bad worms, no bad colors - scent or no scent doesn't matter as much as I wished it did.

There are myriad ways to rig worms and to fish them - start chucking them around and you will find the product that suits you best. Read up on them you'll discover guys do amazing stuff with plastic worms.
