Lake Elsinore ca. Newbie

Greetings all, first post here, so thank you all for your time and efforts to date, and any future blessings to come.
I would categorize myself as a serious newbie fisherman. My fish before but basically ignorant of what I was doing. I watched Glenn on YouTube videos and  that’s got me excited for bass fishing and the information available.

i am staying at the Lake Elsinore Rv and resort with I believe is considered the western marina area. I’ll be shore fishing of course, but I also have paddling Kayak I wanted to float around and fish from too.
I went To Walmart and loaded up on probably more stuff than I need but it was fun. I just hope I didn’t mess up NOT getting what I actually need to find fish in an upcoming four-day trip to Lake Elsinore California.
If anyone has some advise from their experience on that specific lake, I would appreciate it very much. I’d write all the tackle I bought so far, but maybe best to just wait to see if anyone has any list of what to use for the area I’ll be at.
I did go on their web site for description of lake fish, it’s labeled as wild carp, white and black crappie, largemouth bass, carp, bluegill, redear sunfish, Blue and channel catfish. In the mean time, I’ll try to look up these specific fish and what google or utube has to say they like.
again, thank you for your time.
alex.

Hello @AlexB. from Northern California, welcome to Bass Resource and the Forums. I have never fished in Elsinore, but I’d be inclined to throw a 5” green pumpkin senko, a dropshot with a 6” MMIII Roboworm, and a Ned rig to start.

Hopefully @WRB or some of the SoCal guys will see this thread and can provide better information. Good luck and good fishing.

Your best resource may be member from Canyon lake a few miles from Elsinore. I haven't fished the lake in decades. Elsinore lake went thought a serous drought and about 50% full pool.

Goerge Kramer at kramersez1@aol.com is a local resident and pro angler is a good resource. Last Chance Tackle in Hemet is also a good resource.

Elsinore was a good spinnerbait lake targeting fence rows the last time I fished there.

Welcome Alex from “member here from Canyon Lake”. I used to fish Lake Elsinore like 10 years ago when my auntie owned a water front property. I have heard quite a bit of fishing report for Catfish, and panfish over there and of course crap and plenty of those but not bass. Your best bet is to drive around the lake stop and talk to those ppl who is fishing. You could start with something simple like green pumpkin Senko/Fat Ika or light Texas rig MMiii 6” roboworm. The water in Elsinore is pretty murky, visibility might be a foot or less.  BTW, I wouldn’t eat any fish come out from Lake Elsinore.
When is your schedule to be there? You can PM me for any question.
