Hello From Central Texas

Featured Replies

Hello all members,

I am a new member from Central Texas. Been fishing my whole life, as I am now 66 and retired, I have a lot of time to fish. I have fished in the mountain streams of Pennsylvania as a kid for trout, in Lake Michigan for lake perch and smelt (via nets), in North Texas in stock ponds for bass (where I caught my PB 5 1/2 lb Largemouth), Lake Travis for LM Bass, White Bass, Catfish, Crappie, and anything else that would bite. Moved to San Diego for 5 years for employment and got back to Texas in 2018. Now living in the little town of Seguin Texas where my grandson lives. FInally got access to an older bass boat (aluminum hull), which my son-in-law and I are working on upgrading to more modern electronics and trolling motor. But in the meantime, we are currently working on mapping and finding the bass in Lake Placid. A part of the chain of lakes created by the Guadalupe River dams in Central Texas. Lake Placid was stocked in 2017 with 308,000 hybrid bass fry. Which I am sure maybe 5% survived to adulthood. I have caught a few keepers in the past couple fishing trips, but nothing to brag about. Still working on figuring out the lake. Thanks for reading and glad to be a part of a forum I have read for days on end.
