Blackdog Shellcracker hinge joint

Featured Replies

I'm interested in the construction of the hinge joint in a blackdog shellcracker. It's been around for awhile but I've never seen one. Does anyone have one and can show or tell me the mechanics of it? In this picture it looks like the front half is solidly embedded and the rear half has an recessed embedded joint.

Looks simple. 2 slots in the tail. 2 loop wires installed on body. Loops go into slots, then pin slid in and prbably epoxied in place. Thats just my take from afar

That is basically what I was thinking too.

You are asking about the Wooden Shellcracker?

As guessed the wooden Shellcracker uses 2 stainless steel screw eyes larger then the hook hangers and a stainless steel pin (1/16 rod) inserted through both screw eyes from the underside.

Tom

PS, I have a new wooden Shellcracker bluegill in the box if interested.

How.much do those go for?  Sounds awesome - wood baits just have a better feel and sound to them.
