Right there with ya... Many a times I've had to turn back. ??

I am prepared for such an event, whether in a boat or bank fishing. :)

You know what pushed my buttons today? This tree snuck right up behind me as I was casting. 10 Internet Points to the first person to name the bait.

The most embarrassing thing is that it snuck up on me just yesterday as well! Same tree branch! I'm actually standing on the tree trunk. The tree fell awhile ago and stretches across the creek. It's one of my spots.

I was going for "Ultimate Distance" and it got me. Thankfully I didn't have my baitcaster.

Yep... Been there... Done that.  Some days, I could cast in the middle of a football field and get hung up.

By the way that is a screengrab from a GoPro video. Got the whole thing - cast, my shock, cussing, bait retrieval, on video. For what it's worth LOL. Wasn't even trying for the shot. Whatever I look at gets on video. Sometimes it's interesting.

I wouldn't be proud of myself if I recorded some of my exploits.?

That's why 4 days worth of video ends up as a 30 minute video :)

Live bait fishing for bass always chaps my backside whether I am in a boat of on the bank. I don't get it and have explained my dislike for it this way.

What's more of an accomplishment? Get a guy to eat a cheeseburger? Or get that guy to eat one of those dog toys that look like a cheeseburger?

Anyway, bass aren't that hard to catch with artificials and all I can do is shake my head and pity any adult that needs to used live bait to catch bass.

Oh yeah, litter and poor fish handling really bum me out too.

I cannot STAND leftover fishing line anywhere.

I will always see a leftover styrofoam container with live worms in any public park.  Without fail... ?

Taking one small step closer to the water to land a fish and sinking 3 feet into the mud.  I HATE cleaning off mud.

Seeing a great spot on the other side of the water, only to find out that to get to that spot one needs to walk 2 miles around the creek.

Lastly, snagging a bait in a tree.  Not because I snag it, what makes me mad is if the knot breaks and the lure falls - in slow motion - into the water, right freaking in front of me.

watching people apply nonstop pressure on our private association lake (15 acres) during spawn...they keep the bass in coolers for hours and take pictures in a group at the end of their "tournament" and release them into the lake...they do this for several days during the spawn. Why can't they weight the fish and put them right back into the lake?  Respect the Bass and spawn!

Did both last night. Only a bullhead on the worms. To get a certain picture, I felt like I totally mishandled a fish. Plus I didn’t have a needle nose and couldn’t get the 2/0 gami worm hook out. The I realized I could use the mini scissors and finally got it out.

went bank fishing my local pond the other day and was catching the snot out of them on the crosseye chatterbait.  then made one cast that hooked on a buzzbait that was connected to some line that broke off on a tree limb. ended up breaking my line from that. That left a real sour taste.

I wont even fish that bank spot now even knowing fish are there.

it was a weedless split shot rigged Zoom finesse worm, green pumpkin magic. Catches fish as well as sneaky trees.

  • 3 weeks later...

All I’m going to say is this week I caught a 4 pounder a few feet from where a kid was skipping rocks and another 3.5 pounder right next to where another kid was throwing rocks and people were walking by with a loud radio. So dont believe they hype.
