Bandit footloose vs Mann's baby 1 minus

Well I've recently gotten into super shallow cranking and I've been doing well on the kvd 1.5 shallow. Looking at other options these two seem to keep coming up. Which one do you prefer and why?

I can't comment on the Bandit bait or the Baby 1- Minus, but the bigger 1-Minus has been a go to for me for dock fishing, for years. I have one that is tuned to run left and another to run right.  Not too many bass that call a dock their home have seen a crank invade their living room. I would venture to say either will suit your purpose.

Prefer the Baby -1 of those 2.

The Storm Subwart was one of the best wake/shallow running cranks ever IMO. Really wish they'd bring them back.

The baby 1 minus is better than the footloose. That's not to say the footloose is bad, it isn't. I have both and I can't tell you the last time I threw the footloose because the baby 1 minus is just that good.

Do you have a favorite color baby 1 minus? I was checking tackle warehouse and they dont have a bluegill pattern which would be my first choice...the bone color looks good to me

I'd base your color selection on the water clarity.  Up here, I deal with clear water and the baby bass color would be my choice.  The weird thing is one of my 1-Minus baits is black (I don't think it's a current offering) and it gets bit just as often as the baby bass.

Mann-s Baby 1 minus in Tennessee Shad get's bit way more here than bluegill or bass versions and we have no shad or anything even close. I'm glad I took a shot.

I have fished both A LOT.  I primarily fish the Baby Minus 1 and fish it on docks a lot.  I also like the Bandit Footloose but I would normally fish the Bandit where I needed to be shallower than the Minus 1.  For example, I fish some places where the grass/moss runs just shallow enough that the Minus 1 will catch it and ruin the cast. The Bandit runs a tad shallower and doesn’t catch the grass.

I think the Bandits are more precisely made and tend to be more consistent.  For the Minus 1s, if you bought 10, 3 may not run right, the Bandits seem to all run the same.  The Minus 1 does have a better action, I think it has a wider wiggle.

The colors I’ve had the best success with are white/ghost or white/chartruese most of the time, Black/Chartruese in muddier water, American Shad on sunny days.  I’ve wanted to try the black ones but hadn’t done so yet.

I’ve had good luck throwing them in all sorts of situations, but particularly the same area you’d throw a spinnerbait.  If you are in a specific area with a spinnerbait/buzz bait and the bite stops, you can throw this bait and start catching them again.  I’ve also seen them get bit when spinnerbaits didn’t. Also had good luck with these in place of a rattle trap.

got 'em both ... my mileage ...

bandit for small waters such as small ponds and smaller ... baby minus 1 for larger waters ... both perform well ..

use 'em both ..

good fishing ...

Baby 1 minus hands down. They cast better too

chartruese is what I use 90% of the time. It just works for me

Really surprised to see everybody pick the minus. I've never used either like I stated above but I love bandit 100s...they make a solid crank so that minus must be something special.

I've got a single old 1 minus with a terrible hand paint job that has caught a ton of fish.  It's a weird grayish blue that proves to me that a bait like that, it's the action and not the color.  This thing is rough but keeps on chugging

I've still have a couple of sub warts, it definitely puts them in the boat. My favorite small ultra shallow crank would be the Jackall Cherry 0 footer. It looks more lively when swimming it over the others that I have tried and seems to get the most bites. Worth hunting down as they are as not as readily available as they once were.
