Free Rig weight question

Featured Replies

Is it ok to use ol'bullet worm weights for the rig or do fish have different preferences? Basically everyone is jumping on "Tungsten bandwagon" these days but is it even necessary?

Given evidence that Loons, Geese and Ducks are suffering lead poisoning - I've gone to brass and steel as economical alternatives to tungsten. Just like states have banned use of lead shot for duck/geese hunting, they're now working to ban lead weights. It's only a matter of time...and something I support.

Whats a Free rig ?

Ok , I googled it . Pretty interesting . The video I saw the guy was using a lead weight molded around a swivel , like catfish anglers use . Wouldnt using " ol'bullet worm weights" be a Texas rig ? .
