Picked up some suspend dots to add if needed. Does the adhesive on them work well enough or is a dab of super glue needed?

Clean the spot on the bait where the dots are going to be placed with alcohol then make sure it's dry. Press hard when applying dots.

 

I've had some hold for years, and then some that last a couple cast. I wouldn't use glue though, because that dot may not be needed down the road when the water temps change.

I’ve always just “stuck ‘em on” and been fine, often just fractional pieces on smaller baits  for fine tuning. 

I'm in the camp of just stick them on. If you glue them it will be tougher to remove with water temp changes. It will also be tougher to fine tune the placement as to where to position the weight. Now if you have unlimited baits like a true jerkbait aficionado then glue them on & just substitute baits as needed for different weight placement & water temp changes.
